theoretical melbourne station dicegame
A game we're never likely to play as you need to be in Australia to do it. Back in 2007, I was looking at the local rail map for Melbourne and noticed there's loads of places with the same names as English football teams, you could almost have a match between them. This got me thinking, you could do something like fuckdup but instead of using individual pubs, you do it by suburbs
Do a draw of which area goes against each other, then go to a few pubs in each area, decide how many pubs in that suburb were good to give it its score, go to the next area, go to the same number of pubs there and score it again, whichever one wins goes through to the next round
It wouldn't really work in England, although you could split York up into areas and surrounding villages to get the same effect, the main thing that'd work in Australia is that the quality of pubs varies so much
Anyway just for fun here's a mock draw for the Suburban Cup, there's a lot of giant killers made it to the last 16 and some Scottish teams
1 Blackburn (prem)
2 Chelsea (prem)
3 Tottenham (prem)
4 Burnley (champ)
5 Preston (champ)
6 Brighton (lg1)
7 Cheltenham (lg1)
8 St Albans (conf)
9 Hampton and Richmond (conf south - they're a merged team in england so may as well combine them here too)
10 Newport (conf south)
11 Berwick (scottish div3)
12 Albion (scottish div3)
13 Windsor (southern league)
14 Hastings (isthmian league)
15 Hallam (NCEL)
16 Croydon (kent league)
They're the best 16, there's Canterbury and Sandringham too, but neither have a football team of any significance
The balls are in the velvet bag, lets go over to Graham Kelly and Bert Millichip at Lancaster Gate (bugger this Soho Square, namby-pamby, hoity-toity, lad-de-dah poncey nonsense)
